How much would you tip ( decorator )
Please no arguments. Im just looking for a ball part figure. Ive had a property I own fully painted top to bottom. All walls ( different colours so lots of cutting in ), all ceilings, coving, every door, skirting, radiators and some wall papering. House is large empty 3 bedroom house.
Decorator has done a fantastic job - I mean really really good. I am delighted. His cutting in is amazing as Im 100% picky over that. We snagged today ( hardly any ) to complete job tomorrow. Job cost £2000. Young lad own business. What tip would you add on please?

I’m sure he will be happy with immediate payment and a good review, but a £50 tip would be more than enough.

Maybe £50 or if you’re really happy £100
Did you pay cash 🤔 We had fences done recently they ran over by a day so took 6 days, very happy with the work. Cost £2500 Gave him £100 extra & guy that helped him £25 plus some Jack Daniels we had in the cupboard |

I always yip 10% to trade people if they go over and above - the £ isnt the issue (if you had every room done at different times it would add up to the same ) but £2k for a whole house is incredibly cheap - I have paid nearly that for my bedroom suite of rooms alone (but Central London prices)

Makes a great change to hear about a tradesmen who has done a good job. Usually only hear when there is a problem.
Husband is a decorator. He does occasionally get tips, usually no more than about £50 per job. To be honest my husband would probably prefer a customer to take business cards and give them to as many of their friends as possible and as MH says pay their bill on time ! |
