Max fridge temp?
I’m unexpectedly without a fridge for a few days and have had to put everything in the wine chiller.
It has a minimum temperature of 7 degrees. Do you think that’s low enough to keep milk, cheese, sandwich fillings and raw dog food in? When I came home earlier the house smell very strongly of burning, after lots of hunting around we found it was the fridge. Samsung are sending an engineer to assess it so I don’t want to order a new one until they’ve been. They’re going to phone tomorrow to book the appointment but could be a few days. Luckily we have a chest freezer in the shed so it’s only the fridge part that’s a problem. I’ve put everything in the wine chiller but I’m not sure how safe it is? Obviously I’ll check everything before using it, is that enough? Don’t want to make anybody ill. |

My fridge is on 4 but I think in this weather you’ll be ok. Perhaps don’t keep too much in there. I wouldn’t try and buy smaller quantities so they are used more quickly.

I’ve not put much in there, just things that definitely needed it.
Guess I’ll be shopping a bit more frequently for a little while. Dd wasn’t too impressed when I said she might have to have school dinners 😳 don’t think she likes queuing - I must have taught her well 😂 |

I'm a Chef and the highest temp you can keep food in a fridge by is 8 degrees.

If it helps in the slightest, I'm a nurse and our refridgerated drugs need to be kept between 2-8 degrees!
7 degrees should easily be cool enough for meat, milk etc 👍🏻 |

My Grannie had a larder in her pantry - it had stone shelves and outside grill. Zero refrigeration except blocks of ice from the old ice house in the summer which went in the base . She kept all sorts there and never once did she and my Grandpa or us get ill I dont keep butter or cheese in my fridge it is kept in my larder which is just a modern clipboard above the fridge - my torrent used to keep cheese in a dome on the sideboard- keeping it that way makes it tastier (to me)
