Fast pass express universal

Is staying at US hotels that include express passes, how early on check in day can you pick them up and do they last all of the next day... if we leave the park to check in at other hotel will express passes still be valid? We would want to check in at POFQ and then head back over for evening

Check in as early as you like, your room key is your Express Pass and bell services will hold your luggage until you are ready to access your room. Express is valid until park closing on your check out day even if you have checked out of the room.

You can collect your express passes as soon as you check in. You can check in as early as you like in the morning and the passes are valid from park opening on the day you check in until closing on the day you check out. So one night stay gives 2 days of passes, 2 nights stay gives 3 and so on.
