Car hire - is this an ok price?

Hi all -

Struggling with car hire. I've checked out all the 'recommended' people such as DFCH but still can't get a price I'm happy with.

Found this through Thrifty and I like the price - am I missing anything?

Price is £336 for 14 days.

Thanks in advance!

Ever heard of this company before?

Few things that stand out is that part of your screenshot is not in English. On their Website they class CDW as LDW. TP is listed as LIS ?

They also don't quote State Taxes or Airport Fees. And they mention a deductible, unless you take additional insurance. Most reputible hires have zero excess insurance.

You also have to purchase fuel in advance when arriving

Have you tried Alamo Brits, VA car rental for quotes?

Oh...and it's Thrifty. The place where clapped out Dollar rental cars go to die !

Thanks for the reply- have tried Alamo Brits, coming up around £450 for a compact - is this normal? Seems a little high to me.

I just need a car big enough for 2 adults and 3 cases for two weeks.

Mmm. I prefer Alamo.

So some choices.
Virgin Atlantic - Int car £416. Int SUV £429
Netflights - with Dollar, Int car £323. With Alamo, Int car £342. Int SUV £403

So there are deals to be had.

I would get an Int car from Netflights and use the Alamo one.

Edit. We discussed this company the other day - this will help you.

I’ve quickly checked Google and lots of poor reviews and details of issues.

The last thing you want after travelling 5,000 miles is to waste hours getting the car. Sometimes cheap isn’t cheerful.

I always go with Alamo or Avis.

Are you under 25?
If so you need to add on the young driver surcharge.

I wish, I'm 33 😂

Going with Netflights instead anyway 👌

Just check if Netflights bookings can be cancelled without charge. Hire prices fluctuate, so if they reduce in price you want the option of saving money nearer the holiday.

This is their T & C's.

Cancel your booking up to 48 hours before collection and pay no fee for stress-free booking with Netflights
