Very much the same with us. Parks just don’t seem to matter much on the West Coast either.

Done both but much prefer a villa, pool, space and a car to travel.
Disney hotel rooms are too small for us. We like to spread out in a little luxury and even a reasonably priced villa can have that space and luxury in spades. Throw in your own pool and there is no comparison for us. I’ve said this many times before but some of my families favourite times have been relax days at the villa playing in the pool for hours on end “busy doing nothing, laughing the whole day through, trying to find lots of things not to do” Have to say though if going to Universal theme parks we always hire a room at the Royal pacific resort for the night to get two days front of line passes.

bit of both
our trip this year ( if it happens ) is " Grand Floridian " and then to Cypress harbour ( our Marriott vacation club ), even though its off-site, its still on a resort, so none of this private pool, but we love staying on resorts, so it works for us |

Yes, I’m reviewing it now... we have a roughly 4.5K budget for two adults. Unlike florida which is easy to price up, I’m finding this more difficult. I’d like to do universal studios, for memories sake , we were in California in 1983. Maybe a brief nighters in Las Vegas, again we were there in 1983.
. I’m also looking at the east coast Boston area upwards ( done NewYork) |

For us having been 13/14 times it would still be a mix of both on and of site.
In our early days it was offsite due to cost and knowledge, as time went by it became a mix of onsite approx 10/12 days and then golf resort usually grand cypress for 5/6 days. Over the last 6 years we have done alternating trips to Florida and the west coast which has opened up a whole different avenue of knowledge from the dibb. PCH , Vegas , Yellowstone, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, Palm Springs. In short we at present won’t consider Florida until there would be some resemblance of a normal trip Edited at 10:15 AM. |

Come over to the west coast forum! We can help you plan!
It’s so nice to be able to type stuff that’s not about Covid impacts 😳
