Alamo Fuel
Picked up my Fully Inclusive rental on Saturday, I asked to pay for a tank of fuel to avoid having to fill up when I returned it, but he said no need just bring it back empty and we’ll charge you
That’s not how I’ve done it in the past, I’ve always paid in advance ( or had Gold package) Anybody else had this, I’m thinking I’ll hand it back full Incidentally I’d booked a Mid sized, asked about a SUV upgrade, but it was $10 per day so declined When I got outside attendant said there where no Intermediates left just take that SUV over there, ok it was only a Qashqai, but win win |

Never had this or even heard of it sorry.
I would be filling the car to full and getting a receipt to prove that. If they fill it up you will face a hefty charge.

Hi
Just make sure your contract you received at the garage shows zero to pay just in case they have added the fuel already. Alex |

Yeah I looked at the prices as I drove out of the garage. Can’t remember the details but they definitely charge more for filling it back up at the end for you than they charge for the tank at the start. It was only about $1 a gallon difference but if you bought it back nearly empty it adds up.
Cheapest option is definitely fill it your self but having seen the difference I think if I was only a bit under I might not bother filling upon way to airport as it probably saved me less than $4 last time |

When you take it back make a point of showing the attendant that it is full

Photograph the dash to show the fuel gauge and odometer. No arguing with that.

On my last visit in October I filled right up to the brim at the Shell 7/11 on the 192 and drove to Sanford and the fuel gauge did not appear to have moved when I handed the car back!

While some companies gouge to fill an empty, not prepaid tank, Alamo is quite reasonable. If I am not driving much, I will often intentionally not prepay and then bring it back less than a quarter tank down, but not full. I have never been charged and if I were it would be well under $10.
