07.06.2019 - More North Lake Tahoe

Travelling this time was DH (54) - driver/eater/moaner/petrol head/biker

Me (51) - navigator/planner/booker/spreadsheet creator/feeder

So today we planned to take it pretty easy and explore more of North Lake Tahoe.

We started with breakfast in the small lobby of the motel at around 8:30am. It was very pleasant with great fresh hot coffee, along with the usual waffle maker, toaster with lots of different breads and cereals. We left with some snacks for later too

We then walked back over to the beach opposite again and wandered our way around the edge of the lake towards Kings Beach.

It was a lovely morning but very windy again which did make it quite chilly, so we decided to jump in the car and drive to Tahoe City to have a mooch.

It was only about 15 minutes away and we parked in a free car park on the outskirts of town. We walked up and down the main road to have a look at the shops and after a couple of hours we entered out of the back of a small shopping arcade, onto a lovely sunny pathway along the edge of the lake.

Further on a bit more we came across a marina.

It was a lovely walk and we enjoyed the scenery.

We came across the Tahoe Gal which was leaving for a 3 hour tour of the lake in less than 15 minutes, so we purchased tickets and waited to board.

We originally sat on the deck but once we got going it was way too windy and cold to stay there so we moved indoors.

It didn't spoil the experience at all and we just popped back out for some great photo opportunities.

We had a lunch of pulled pork sandwich and burger.

Doesn't look too appetising, but it tasted better than it looked

The cruise went right around the opposite side of the Lake to Emerald Bay, and included Ehrman Mansion at Sugar Pine Point, Rubicon Point, Fanette Island, Vikingsholm Castle and an occasional sighting of ospreys and bald eagles.

Not a great pic but this Osprey was skimming the surface fishing for food.

and the captain pointed out the nest. Can you spot it?

Vikingsholm castle was built by Mrs. Lora Josephine Knight as a summer home and she also built a tea house on Fanette Island, where she used to go for afternoon tea!

We had a lovely cruise and would definitely recommend it. We paid $58 each and the food came to about $35 including the tip.

Back on dry land we drove back to the motel and warmed up!

I had actually got my PJ's on when DH said he was hungry, so I put a jacket on and we walked next door to a pizza takeaway to eat in the room.

I uploaded the days photos and collapsed into bed

Great photos.
I've no real idea, but is the nest on the 2nd tree from the left?
