Mobile Florida without the parks

Does anyone do florida with the parks?

Due to my wife forgetting half her dollars when we went in September we have around $2000 in spare cash . We would like to go in april for her birthday. Our options are:

1wk in New York roughly £1000 each .with
A temps around 18c

Or

2wks on international drive or villa with temps around 30c
£1200 each with car rental and no parks

You could do 2 centre and get flights down to FL after a few days in NYC then fly back to NYC before flying home...

We do and we have annual passes to all the parks except Disney
We do mostly longer holidays now 6weeks so we can easily spend 2weeks never near a park
There is so much mpre to Florida than theme parks

we are thinking of a few days out away from the parks on our upcoming visit. quite like the look of st Augustine

getting on the 417 and getting on the coast road A1A and stopping to see things. is that doable in a day

We're not remotely like traditional Dibbers now. At 70+ we haven't been to a park since 2010 apart from MVMCP in 2014. We have however been to Florida around 15 times since 2010 and we did the parks loads of times before 2010.

We get a bit of a Disney fix by a couple of trips to DS each time where we usually catch a bus and do a tour of a few resorts. The 47 square miles of WDW is great but now we explore the other 65,700 square miles that Florida has to offer. Been to St Augustine in the north and Key West in the south and loads of places between.

St Augustine is about 2.5 hours each way and we have done it as a day trip. Oldest continuously settled European community in the USA apparently.

Above is the old jail where you can park and catch the trolley tour.

Bok Tower is very nice but there's also Harry Leu Gardens and Winter Park Scenic Boat ride. These two are only around 5 miles apart and can both be done in a day - much nearer as well.

Or for a simple day on the coast we like Anna Maria Island. Again around 2.5 hours.
