Best place in Miami to visit Everglades

Hi

I’m visiting Miami for 3 nights in December and really fancy a trip to the Everglades. Does anyone know the best places to go please (we will have a car and there are 2 adults and 3 kids).

For closeness perhaps Key Largo and/or Islamorada - you can swim with the dolphin on KL, Dolphin's Plus. They currently have a 30% discount on, may be worth checking out. Theatre of the Sea, Islamorada.

We stopped at Shark Valley in the Everglades which is one of the national parks and is also close to one of the reservations nps.gov/ever/planyourvisit/svdirections.htm We did one of the trails but unfortunately did not have time for the tram ride. Did spend 5 minutes debating whether it was safe to walk down a path as a huge gator was straddled part of the the path but as we watched several others go past decided it was safe to continue.

When we where there in the summer we stayed at homestead. We could easily get to the keys and Miami. But I would recommend the alligator farm ( everglades/) and Robert is here for a smoothie.

We are doing the same next year, After doing some research I'm booking Buffalo Tigers airboat tour as they come highly recommended.
