Insurance - do I NEED

Tyre and windscreen cover?

DH thinks we should however I have shown him all the comments but he's still undecided.

We are doing a fair amount of driving - Miami to the keys, then up to AMI, then back to MIA.

Thoughts anyone?

Personally, its not something I bother with. If you're doing a lot of driving / road trips, then it might be worth considering. If you decide to take it, make sure to do it through a 3rd party and not directly with the rental companies as they're pretty expensive.

Hi
Just so people are aware not all rentals with AE include wheels, glass & under carriage, unless you take premium cover. Budget with AE for example.

We needed it when we were on a road trip in Washington state, we were 4 hours from Seattle when we got a loose chip thrown up and cracked windscreen. We simply waited in a Walmart carpark for 4 hours and Alamo brought us a new car on a low loader. We don't buy but otherwise if not on a road trip.

It’s not something someone else can answer for you. I guess the question is if you did get damage to the windscreen could you afford to replace it ? If not, its probably something you should get.

CDW with Alamo includes the screen. This was confirmed by a Dibber on here a few years ago.

Correct, we had a chipped/cracked windscreen with Alamo, kept the car as it wasn’t a issue, no problem on return of the car.
