Good luck .
It’s really hard going .
If he decides he wants attention he’ll howl and bark for ages , it’s really hard to ignore because it’s incredibly loud and stresses us all out but we know if we don’t keep on we will have massive issues down the line .
Going to be a case of letting him fill his boots while we shut the door!

We've had our labradoodle pup a week and I feel like I've got a new baby! Put him to bed at 9pm and take him out around 1am then get up just before 7am. Not sure when we'll be able to drop the night time get up. We are crate training as we will be out for a few hours at a time working and I don't want him to destroy the house. When he's stop eating everything we will probably retire the crate. The only issue we're having is jumping and mouthing the children. They don't react calmly enough so he's not learning not to jump at them. Any tips gratefully received!

Best tip I was given when I got Bill the springer was take the crate upstairs. After nights of howling wailing me sitting in the floor in the dining room then trying to creep out. I put the crate by my bed put a light cover over the top with a ticking clock nearby. Gradually over a week I moved it further away bottom of the bed, outside the door then on to the landing. Hearing me breathing seemed to soothe him. Within the week he was back downstairs. It was hard work but worth it. He loves the crate and puts himself to bed when he's tired. Normally don't hear a peep til morning. He's restless at the moment he's not coping too well in the heat.

See we were told by the breeders not to do that as it makes the process longer so we just put him downstairs at night (although he is only allowed downstairs in hallway, kitchen and garden anyway) and he’s really good at night , even with the huge thunderstorm we had last night which was right over us .
I’m more having an issue with in the day as if we leave him to get on with things (still in the house though) he screams and it’s really stressful.
I don’t want a clingy dog and I’m worried the neighbours will start complaining .
Feeling bit down about it today and wondering if he’ll grow out of it

Try not to worry - also try leaving him from now, pop to the shops and leave him, or hide outside away from the door and listen. He will give in.

Woody used to go mental if we went into the lounge and left him but obviously now he’s toilet trained he just follows us round when he thinks we’re disappearing. They do learn but it is hard. Like you’ve been doing at night, ignore him while you’re busy, let him carry on it will sink in eventually.

Frenchies do like to be where you are I’m afraid
All of ours do anyway but are happy to go to there crates if we go out
At bed time or if we are busy doing something but not amused if left
Not on the crate
And no they don’t spend hours locked in them
All of them used there crates yesterday through choice in the heat
As they are in the coolest rooms fans on and cooling mats in the crates
Yes it’s a battle of wills as they are stubborn little things but it will get better

Thank you , that’s reassuring.
Don’t know if you’ve ever heard a Frenchie but the noises they make are like nothing on this earth !
I am trying to leave him for longer and longer but as he’s only 8 weeks he’s not able to control his bladder properly yet so can’t let him in other rooms .
Hope when we’re back from holiday the breeders will have been able to curb some of it and then when we are back he will be old enough for walks as would’ve had his 2nd injections .
I knew it was going to be hard but this is next level 😆

Thanks , yes I knew they were stubborn but really underestimated just how much!
Will be easier once fully housetrained I’m sure !
We only shut the gate on the crate when he naps as means he can’t get up to anything while I’m not around ,thankfully he prefers the door shut .
He’s so good at night , it’s just the day . Feel like I’m tiptoeing around !
