Cheese

So as you can see my countdown is ticking... Here’s my question. We are self catering and like our apartment well stocked with snacks and stuff for sandwiches. My taste in cheese is very boring. I like Cathedral City type cheddar (although I’m happy with any brand that is similar). In all my years of holidaying in Orlando I have yet to find a cheddar that is not just really plasticky and processed feeling. I do take a few things from home to keep me happy but I don’t feel that cheese can be one of them! Can anyone suggest a better cheddar? Have tried most supermarket own brands, Kraft and Cracker Barrel but they feel so rubbery.

Hi, my mum has the same issue. She goes to the cheese counter in either Wal-Mart or Publix and asks the person on counter to recommend. She then tries samples. Always finds one she likes. It’s worth a try 😄

Canadian Cheddar is usually close to what we have or in Walmart there is one called "Sharp Cheddar" which is like a mild/medium cheddar. We normally go down the sharp route as its a good for all cheese

I agree with Gismo ,Canadian Sharp is our go to cheese, buy the block though as the pre shredded is very floury , as ours can be here due to the addition of a product to stop it clumping .

We gave up and went for grated mozzarella from Publix when we were in a villa last time. I love cheese but it has to be real!
