having used /brits every year since they stopped the dragster 30% deal (2010?) i have *never* been asked for the book. the guys at the desk have no clue what the book is even! and if they did, just say you bought the book but left it at home because you needed the luggage allowance/space that a bulky book takes up!

if you are *really* paranoid, you can get the 2015 guide for £2.21 from amazon - amazon/Brit-Guide-...cc4ca55cfbb297

(the 2016/2017 versions are about a tenner)

Thanks for the replies everyone! I was just checking as I had read of someones experience on TripAdvisor that required to them having to pay much more as they didn't have a copy of the book.

No Alamo desk clerk is going to waste time on checking a book that might cause him/her a lot of hassle, when they could be chasing commission by upselling you overpriced GPS or extra insurance.
