Other than for pre-packaged snacks, we guessed all of it. I tend to do that at home too (other than for the odd McDs etc) and used the Carbs & Cals app on my phone if I was a little bit stuck!

His levels weren't the best out there, but I tried to relax a little and just go with the flow. He uses a CGM (dexcom) and a pump so I did lots of little corrections throughout the day and temp basals etc. I tried to give him a bit of a break from it all too - 2 weeks running a little higher than normal isn't the end of the world

I know lots of people say the heat makes them go low, but I've found, together with excitement, it makes my son's levels really high. I just figured that there's lots of hidden sugars (corn syrup!) in a lot of US foods that we don't normally find at home so my guessing could be a little off.

The chefs at the TS restaurants are more than happy to come out to you if you ask your server

Thanks for the great info. We have CGM dexcom we self fund and pump. I'm really not gonna get to stressed about it. I don't however want him having loads of cakes and overloaded sugar everyday of the trip. Not because of his diabetes but just we don't mind an ice cream once a day but not coupled with cake and sweets at every turn.
