For those whose flights from Manchester have changed were they originally at 10.30? We're on the 12.45 so guessing it's not going to change.

Why is anyone surprised that flight times change? It happens all the time. What would be remarkable if an aircraft actually departed at the time stated when the flights were first released 11 months before. It almost never happens. The times are not set in concrete - they do tell you to check. Most of the posters are not going for months yet - plenty of time for further updates.
Airlines have to fit in with Air Traffic Control and the availability of slots through all the areas being flown. They have to fit in with availability of facilities at both airports, and any development work taking place there. This means coordinating with other flights requiring the same facilities. Then they have to coordinate with their own flights to ensure everything is in the right place at the right time. Virgin has had more problems this year due to the engine problems with their 787s, involving lots of rejigging of their plans. If certain flights are not selling well, so are uneconomic to operate, then they might merge/cancel flights. On the day, there can be delays due to weather, technical issues, strikes etc. It is complex. The earlier you book, the more likely it is that something will change before you go - you need to bear that in mind. |

We fly April 27th from lgw to mco and virgin adjusted my flight time 15 minutes earlier. They didn’t email me, but did email my mother who was also on the booking and she forwarded it to me. Seems like a rather weird change for the sake of 15 mins
