QSDP Alcoholic Drink
At the risk of sounding like a closet alcoholic. But say we had gone back to our resort to have an evening meal at the food court. Youngest son has got his refillable mug. Could I, in theory, have the alcoholic drink that would come with his meal? Has anyone done this?
Thanks in advance. Andy. |

They'll want to see over 21 ID for each drink.

I thought that, but in our 3 trips, I have not once been asked for ID. Even when buying for others.

It might be different with the free alcoholic drinks on the dining plan though to make sure you're not getting more than you should based on the number of adults in your party. I really don't know though. Until we start getting some firm feedback on what people have and haven't been able to do though, we won't know for sure.

I agree with loves2plan. Disney are extremely cautious with alcohol for very good reason and will literally ID everyone whether they are 21 or 60 so I imagine before they introduced the alcohol addition they will have thought about this so I imagine there will be something that defines how many you can get.

I believe it is 2 drinks per ID, or person they are happy to serve. Waiting to go to Fantasmic last year I went to grab a couple of beers for my FIL and I and margherita’s for MIL and my wife. They didn’t ask for ID (in fact despite being baby faced I’ve never been ID’d in Disney) but they wanted to see my wife due to the 2 drinks rule.

Q: How does it work for guest under 21?
Guests under the age of 21 are entitled to choose from the Non-alcoholic new beverages. By US law they cannot be served any alcohol. Q: Do guests 21yrs old or older need to carry an ID? Yes – guests 21 yrs. and older need to show their passport or a passport scan and a driving license, so that they can be served alcoholic beverages. Q: Can an adult utilise the dink entitlements from another member of their party who is under 21yrs. old to have a second glass of alcohol? The drink entitlement is linked to each person and their age. By US law, guests under 21 cannot be served an alcoholic drink but they can instead choose any of the newly included specialities beverages. Q: Can alcohol entitlements be saved up to have i.e. 3 drinks with one dinner and none with 2 other meals? The drinks entitlements are linked to each meal. Guest can consume them only while they enjoy their meal. Q: How does it work if a guests consumes one alcoholic and one soft drink during a meal? In this case the more expensive drink – likely the alcoholic drink – will be taken on the Dine Plan and the less expensive drink will have to be paid separately. Q: Can the alcoholic entitlement be separated from a meal and consumed at a bar or as take-away? The new drinks entitlements are part of the Dining Plans and can only be redeemed as part of a meal in a location that accepts Dining Plans. |
