surprised how hard to get ADR of choice!

We have had many many trips to WDW, some onsite, some offsite.

Our ADR window started on Wednesday (Arriving 20th August) and I am genuinely really really shocked at how hard it seems to be to get a decent ADR time.
We aren't looking for CRT or BOG, more some standard favourites that we always head for - Crystal Palace breakfast, 'Ohana dinner, Boathouse dinner etc.
So far, we haven't been able to book the time we want for anything!
This hasn't ever happened- we have always managed good booking times.

Is it just us being unlucky, or is everyone else finding ADRs that little but more tricky this year?

You need to be a bit flexible with your times. If they don't have 8:05 then try for 8:15 and so on. Usually if you select "Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner" then it should list all available slots.

Thanks Geoff - It seems even going around it that way isn't any better.
I have been trying to swap days around (whilst looking at crowd calendars etc) but that isn't making a big difference.
It may be that as the booking window has only just opened, people are making the maximum amount of ADRs they can and slots will open up over time as they realise they don't need them...

I have also had trouble for the first time this year. We haven't been able to get the day we wanted for anything, or the early Times to get into MK before park opening. I have had to swap our park days around to be able to get what we wanted but even then it's still not the Times we wanted exactly. No beaches and cream available at all.

How many are in your party? We had issues last year with Crystal Palace and garden grill in that tables for 3 were not coming up for the times we wanted. I changed it to table for 4 and got 8.05 for both.

We have 5 in our party for the first time this year. So I wonder if that's made a difference?

We are a nice symmetrical 4, no odd numbers or large parties! It's just strange.. It's taken me by surprise a bit!

Our window opened yesterday and I've had to do a bit of swapping of days to get a decent time at Garden Grill. Managed to get an 8.30am slot after a bit of jiggling around.

Sound normal to me.

Never got Beaches! Rest have got juggling around times / days, we are 7.55pm at O'hanas this year, not idea, but will make it work. Lie in and pool morning that day, b'fast by pool and late lunch, and watch Hallowishes Fwks from the Poly.
