If you are in the market for a 75 point add on, you really have to go some to make those Perks worthwhile! You can pick up a SSR contract for say $7500 or pay Disney anything between $14000-$16000 that's a serious amount of crisps
We are going through that debate ourselves as we want to add on a 100 point contract: SSR resale for around £7300 or CC direct for £13500 just can't persuade myself that that extra £6k is good value!

Annoyingly we only closed on our ssr resale last week and had decided to purchase 25 points direct add-on. An extra 50-75 points is out of our reach at the moment so we will have to give buying direct a miss.

Someone reported that they called for an SSR 25 pointer today and to their surprise they were sold one. You can try tomorrow. An alternative if that is a no go, is just say you want 50 at Copper Creek.

Personally though I would not even have bought 25 for perks, they are just not worth that much money to me. I think there is a lot of hype. If you buy APs a 25 pointer made sense though.

Ah thanks for the reply Yorkshire T. I will give a call tomorrow and see if we can but we definitely won’t be buying 50 points for the perks. It’s out of our budget and we really don’t need that many extra points right now. I’ll report back on how I get on calling tomorrow.

Did you get anywhere. Apparently they freed up points that had been locked down yesterday (backs up Tom's suspicions there) and today quite a few are reporting securing 25 pointers (mainly been at SSR from what I've seen).

We bought 100 points resale at SSR last year and were looking to buy 25 points direct this year. We weren't thinking of doing it quite so soon though until yesterday's news appeared!

Phoned up today about purchasing 25 points and have been put on a waiting list! Fingers crossed something comes up in the next 13 days! Apparently you only need to pay the deposit for the contract to count as purchased before 25th Feb you don't need to have closed.

If we don't manage to pick up 25 points we won't be going for 75. The perks don't warrant that. My fear is that Disney will continue to penalise those who've only bought resale somehow!

So far none of their action against Resale has been retrospective, as we bought in 2008 we still have all the perks but the sum total of our use has been the 10% discount in the shops & have used the lounge once. This year we probably will take advantage of the AP discount so definitely not worth it for us.

We have twice taken a cruise but the points are now so high that I’d rent my points out rather than use them to book a cruise.

Last year we got 20% off in most shops. This was a new perk and it was nice but we’ve never had it before.

While it’s nice to get the perks they aren’t worth £1000s.

We have thought long and hard about this today and have now decided not to try to get the extra 25 points direct at SSR before the 25th Feb. I think realistically our 200 resale points will suit us fine for the moment. I don’t like having to buy things in a rush and at the moment we don’t need annual passes and are unlikely to be able to go to many events. The discounts would be nice though. I will probably keep changing my mind on this so hoping we don’t regret the decision!
