If you go to the Amazon US website you will be able to see and purchase e gift cards for many different restaurants. To purchase you can just log in with your normal amazon account details. When you buy the e gift cars they will ask you who it is for and their email address - just put your own details in. Within a few minutes you will receive an email to say the card has been sent, and you will then receive an email with a link to the card itself. Print out the card and take it to the restaurant with you - they don’t expire, can be topped up and can be combined with any vouchers/offers you find else where. Any many of them, although they are branded as restaurant specific, when you look at the fine print you will see they can be used at any restaurant chain the group. So for example, Texas Longorn e gift cards can also be used at Olive Garden. We regularly buy e gift cards as an alternative way to save up - as well as having a loadable currency card that we regularly load money too. Both are good ways to save in small amounts.

We are booking to go at Christmas and my daughter's boyfriend may be coming with us. To try and help pay for some things before we go can you think of anywhere where you prepay when you book or get gift cards that I can buy?

I have never heard of prepaying a restaurant before. . What if you can’t make it?

Anyway it is better for you to have use of your money in the meantime not a restaurant. Save your money, ring fence it somehow, don’t hand it over for somebody else to earn the interest on it.
