Do PS3 games bought in US work in UK?

Today I received my PS3 60gb I ordered from Toys R Us online (I didn't believe I would get it, keep trying they are out there) - so glad I have decided not to bring one back from Florida as it is soooooo heavy.

yes games will work, and also some of the blue ray films will work, some 1 left a link on another post which tells you, which films are ok to get in states, if you do a thread check you should b able to find it, i think it was a week or so ago,
