Wii Games Expert needed
Hi,
Does anyone know the definitive answer as to whether Wii games purchased in the USA will play on a Wii machine purchased and located in the UK please? Also if anyone has a link to a website about this I would be very grateful Thanks.

I have heard that some games (the first party games--ie the ones Nintendo make themselves, for their machine) ARE region free and its only 3rd party publishers who have, and use, the option of encoding their titles with a region.
So, titles such as Wii sports and Wii play are made by Nintendo for Nintendo so may be different form say, Fifa 08. Does anyone have any further info on this angle please?

The US games work on DD's Nintendo DS. Virgin mega store at DTD have a list of what is compatible but I think (not sure) if it uses a tv screen it doesn't work.

Contact details for nintendo UK. If you ask them they will give a definate answer. I think you'll find that the US games are NTSC and UK games are PAL so they won't work.
