Poor sleep. Poor pillow? Shoulder pain

Hi, any suggestions for shoulder support pillows for sleeping. I need to keep it in alignment.
I have seen the knees ones but no shoulder ones. Or neck support suggestions?

Am a side sleeper. Or at the moment it is fairer to say I am a side awaker ☹️

What pillows do you use?

I have problems with my neck & shoulder and I'm currently using a v shaped pillow
I sleep on my side and have is so one length runs along my front and the join of the v sits over my shoulder/under my neck - its a little hard to explain but actually pretty comfortable and has reduced my neck/shoulder pain

They are pretty cheap and great for sitting in bed so not a huge loss even if you don't find it esp helpful for your shoulder/neck issues

I suffered with a frozen shoulder for months last year (didn't realise it was a frozen shoulder at the time) and I found making my own V out of 2 pillows helped quite a bit.

You should find some relief by facing the other way or propping yourself up if possible. It's a horrible pain isn't it?

I've had 4 shoulder ops (2 each side) and loved my IKEA V Pillow.

Going against the grain here if I use a V pillow it makes my neck and back 10 times worse especially if I fall asleep with it still in place

I have neck and shoulder problems, I have to have a soft pillow not too high, a few weeks ago I had shoulder pain and shooting pains down my arm and all across my breast bone when I moved. I got dh to massage my shoulder and press on painful areas till the pain released, physiotherapist showed me this, the pain went after two days. I think it was a trapped nerve, hope it helps xx

I have 3 different thicknesses of pillow, all from John Lewis, and DH & I swop them on a regular basis as we find if we stick with one type for too long we both get neck & or shoulder ache.

I’ve had various shoulder ops and struggle to find pillows that I really like and stops the pain. I’ve had the Otty Sleep deluxe pillow for about a year now and I really like it!

Thank you all. Will certainly try making my two pillows into a v tonight and see how I go.

I have been thinking about the tween the knees pillows you see advertised. I think I could do with something like that under my arm to hold it up, as well as something firm tucked right into my neck to support my head. I have tried every permutation of pillows in our house to no avail. Thought throwing money at the problem might help 🙁

Please!

I suffered from neck pain for a long time, tried every pillow going; bamboo, feather, memory foam, v-pillows (helped a bit) and those kind of S shaped pillows.

This beauty changed my life:

I'm a side/slightly front sleeper and this stops my shoulders moving which I think was contributing to the pain. It's the perfect height for me, a lot of 'good' pillows and very high/man size.
