I live alone in a 3 bedroom house.
The box room is a walk in wardrobe and it's full, so are the wardrobes in my bedroom and the spare room.
I never throw anything away, unless it's stained or ripped beyond repair.

I still have and wear clothes from C&A.

I used to love c&a / do you remember clockhouse clothes from there?

Oh yes. I practically lived in the one in Reading. My first "real job" clothes came from there... and I still have the jumper (1992).

I have several t-shirts from before I met my husband - so late '80s - and a skirt and a shirt that I bought when I was at uni, so they date from about 1985

Only keep band t shirts we’ve bought at concerts. Usually have a clear out every year or so. Have a couple of good jackets that are a few years old but nothing else really.

Apart from handbags, don’t think I own much that is more than 3-4 years old.

I try to clear out once or twice a year; in a normal non-covid year when we've worn ‘proper’ clothes, if I’ve not worn it for a year or so, I’m likely to get rid of it.
If worn looking, it goes to the recycling bins; if decent, to the charity shop. I’ve sold a few higher end items on eBay.

A lot the clothes I wore in the 80s at one point came back into fashion. My daughter's were both annoyed that I never kept hold of any of them. I was only a size 6-8 then though😫😫😫.

I find it really difficult to get clothes to fit how I like, so when I find something, I keep it for years!

However recently someone I know was collecting coats for a homeless charity so I gave two coats I barely wore anymore to them. I wish they had wanted other types of clothes too as I was feeling happy to get rid of things for once!

Dave still has some C and A polo style shirts, nothing wrong with them so I believe you.

My oldest items are a very expensive wool coat from 1981 (size 8) which is still in excellent condition and fits and is worn each winter. Also have a cocktail dress from the same era which comes out on certain occasions - so guess I definitely can be classed as liking to get wear out of clothes. DH also has several items which are more than 20 years old. Just as well in the current climate that we are not members of the wear and throw brigade as who knows when shops with changing rooms will be open to try clothes on before buying.
