Disney resort hopping day - what route should we take?

Hoping I'm posting this in the right place...

Not too familiar with Disney having only been to the parks once back in 2015.

Still not doing Disney parks this time but hoping to do a day 'resort hopping' - what's the best way to approach this? Where should we start? Would like to stick to boats/monorails where possible (if this even is possible)?

Would probably just look to have a drink in each resort, ending at Disney Springs for something to eat.

We've never stayed in a WDW hotel nor visited a park since 2010 but every holiday (sometimes twice ) we park up at Disney Springs and do a tour of resorts using the free WDW transport - bus, boat, monorail and, I assume, the skyliner.

Park at the eastern end of orange garage and you're close to the bus terminal.

A typical tour. Bus to Wilderness Lodge, boat to the MK gates then the three monorail hotels. Return to DS by bus from one of them

You can get a boat from DS to OKW, PO and OKW.

Thanks Mick. Sounds like this could be a good plan!

Just to add that you don't need to be a resort guest, have park tickets or a dining reservation to use the transport.

Another suggestion is bus to either S&D, Y&B or Boardwalk (same bus) and get off at any and catch the Friendship boat to HS. Not suggesting parking at DS and doing this to avoid parking at the parks by the way.

Just to add (part 2 )that the buses to the monorail loop hotels and the Boardwalk area hotels don't start running until 11 am - this is to avoid, or make less attractive, parking at DS to visit the parks.

Good to know! Thank you! Though we won't have a car (the thought of driving in Orlando terrifies me... and this is planned to become somewhat of a 'bar crawl'

According to your countdown, you'll be there in 6 months. There's a chance that campervan guests at Fort Wilderness will be starting to decorate for halloween. Don't forget to include it. The Trails End Buffet is good value and the beach is a great place to watch MK fireworks with piped music. Where will you be parking? It's easily accessible by boat from Magic Kingdom boat dock which you could reach from TTC by Paddleboat or monorail. The FW boat also serves Wilderness Lodge which is worth a visit.

We did this last year on our honeymoon. We got an Uber to the Contemporary, then we got the Monorail to MK (yes i know we could have walked but the Monorail is fun!), got the boat to Fort Wilderness for late breakfast at Trails end, boat back to MK and got the bus to Yacht club, walked round the boardwalk area. Then walked to international gateway to get the Skyliner to AoA. Then we got the bus to springs, and had dinner at Blaze after a bit of shopping.
It was a really great day! We had a lot of fun looking at the christmas decorations in the resorts. We also did the tree trail at Springs which just added that little bit of Disney magic to a Universal holiday
