Richard Ayoade deadpan humour and his already strange mannerism would make him an ideal Dr Who

No I can’t stand him and his vacant expression.
I’ve been thinking about this and I can’t top Rylan Someone a bit older - Bill Nighy maybe. He was in the Van Gogh episode fleetingly and they do like using people who have already been in it. Rylan could then be his assistant

I’ve seen Tom Ellis (Lucifer) , Kris Marshall from Death in Paradise and Jo Martin (Max from Holby) suggested , all have possibilities.
Sticking with the woman theme , how about Judi Dench ? IDris Elba was in the running before, he’d be interesting. Edited at 08:51 AM. |

I don’t do films or anything that is a series
So actually have never heard of most of the names mentioned - sorry But if I watched something like Dr Who I would want an unknown To me if I watched Dr Who and saw John Bishop , I would be thinking ‘ what the hell I he doing in this , because I would recognise him as John Bishop It would spoil the ‘ make believe ‘ if that makes sense ?

Depends on what sort of show you want I suppose. Im not a fan but dh is. Quirky and lighthearted? Miranda Hart or David Mitchell? Serious Idris Elba or Matthew Kelly or Timothy Spall? Or a edgy and a bit eccentric Michael Sheen or Jennifer Saunders.
