Feeling nostalgic. :(

Hiya,
Feeling a bit forlorn tonight. One of my friend posted the Goodbye song from Bear in the Big Blue House on YouTube and its brought back so many memories. I used to sing it to DD11 every night when a she was a tiny baby before I put her in her cot. Got me thinking that I'll never get those years back and I wish I'd enjoyed them more instead of wishing for the next stage in her life to come. I know I still have years with her but I can feel her slipping already as far as going out with friends etc goes.

I totally understand where you're coming from and I also sang the same song to my eldest when he was small, he's nearly 13.

Time goes to fast and though like you I also remember wishing for the next stage with my eldest I've had another 4 since and with them I have savoured every minute. My little one is coming up to 2 now and I find myself trying to keep her a baby for as long as I can.

I love my children and I love watching them grow but I also hate that each day means they are one step further away from me.

Yeah I have a DS7 and I reckon I baby him still! I love that they're more Independant as far as getting dressed etc goes but when I think about the baby days, I get a really content feeling in my stomach. Although I know at the time I was pretty much stressed out of my head constantly!

Coincidently, only a few weeks ago my DD13 found all the songs from Bear In The Big Blue House on YouTube and the pair of us sat and watched them and sang along. Then I got a little bit teary because she's still my baby but those days are long gone

I know how you feel! my DD is getting married next Saturday and I'm starting to feel redundant. Time is passing so quickly make the most of everyday you spend with your children.
