The only time I notice people clapping is on Ryanair flights when you are asked to clap because we landed on time. Gets on my wick tbh.

Yes, we had that in Chicago. Thought it very odd. The people who made the film went their separate ways some 3 years ago! Still better than some chav yapping on a mobile phone I suppose.

I've been on flights where people clap and ones where they don't. Itscjustva nice thing to do for the children to show their excitement in going to the happiest place on earth. Like saying yay were nearly there

The only flight I've ever experienced this on was a hellish flight from Vienna to Gatwick - it was very windy and absolutely terrifying. There were loads of rabbis on the plane - I was tempted to convert!

Haha actually no, it would have been Gatwick we flew from as we travel down south to stay with my sister for a couple of days beforehand. But I guess that's Glaswegians for you haha!

I clap if everyone else does. Just because I get sooo excited going on holiday! I've been on a few flights before when I've really understood the reason for clapping, mainly because the turbulence has been bad just before landing and it's a mixture of relief on landing and appreciation for the pilot.

Yes the Glaswegians are always more friendly than us from Edinburgh (generally). I'm used to the clapping now but the first time it was very strange
