I also have the sear and stew. Brown the meat, add shallots and paprika. Then add port, beef stock, and redcurrant jelly. Remove joint and add some Bisto to thicken the gravy.

We did this last Sunday for the first time. We were unsure how it would turn out, but it was actually came out really tender.
We seated the meat first, put lots of lovely vegetables at the bottom of the slow cooker and placed the meat on top, we also poured in the remaining juices from the frying pan. I added an oxo cube too.

It was amazing, thank you. The beef was so tender.
