MK Transport stupid question

I cannot get this clear in my head... what is the deal for getting to MK, namely where do you leave a car vs where do you get dropped off by bus, where does the monorail take you and what's the deal with the boats?

We have a hire car for part of our trip and want to head out to some of the resorts on the monorail. People have mentioned about it being quicker depending on where you are dropped and the TTC so I now totally confused! Thank you for your patience.

If you go by car, you park in the carpark and then catch either the monorail or boat to the park entrance. If you go on the Disney bus from your resort it drops you off right at the park entrance.

The shuttles from the car parks drop you off at TTC, then you get to MK Entrance by either the express monorail, or by the ferry boat. The buses drop you at the bus station which is adjacent to the MK Entrance, bypassing the TTC. You can get the Monorail to the resorts from there for sure

TTC if you request Magic Kingdom specifically. But they can take you to any resort, so many opt to ask for the Contemporary instead and walk from there.

I watched a vlog last week and they found the monorail was broken so they jumped a bus. Looked a quicker option than waiting for the ferry but where did they get on the bus and where it drop them off. I suspect it must have Been close to monorail/ferry as they only got it once finding out the monorail was out of order.
