Mobile Would you/Have you stayed in Pasadena?

We are in LA for 3 nights and will be visiting Universal, Santa Monica, Walk of fame, Hollywood sign etc.
We have a car but apart from Santa Monica would prefer not to use it. Would you say Pasadena is ok, do able on the metro?
Thanks

There is a metro station pretty central but have never used it. I have been twice for work, lovely place, the main st (West Colorado Blvd) is lovely, loads of great food, shops, a bit like being in Hampstead or Highgate. Rosebowl is close by. Parking is not typically American (ie.. not loads of it or free).

I can't help you with the Metro as we've always used the car but Pasadena is a perennial stop on our LA tours. We always stay at the Hilton Pasadena overnight and spend time in the Old Town. I'd recommend it.

Very nice place, as mentioned in the town centre there isn't much free parking. Burbank is more car friendly.

Unless I was going somewhere that parking was going to be an issue (like for a game) then personally I would drive if you have a car. Parking at the shopping centre for Hollywood is easy. You get an OK view of the sign from there, but better view if you drive up nearer to it. You also have places like the Griffith Observatory which is a short drive to.
