Walking distance from plane to immigration.

Hi all.

We are into dbl figures 99 days to we go. Up until two weeks ago we were thinking that we would have to cancel due to myself not being well due to a undiagnosed leg problem. It’s now on the mend but it’s looking like I will still have a limp when we travel due to being diagnosed with polymyalgia. I was hoping someone could give me an idea how far I would need to walk from plane to immigration. We are seated in the bubble so hopefully we would be off quick but just would like to have idea of the walk and I know it might be different where your plane parks. We are arriving from Glasgow on virgin arriving on the may 24th.

Thanks potterp

Overall I wouldn't say that it was more than 100 yards.

Hi.

Oh that’s good so I will still be able to make a dash to get there ASAP. Lol

Once by immigration I can take it easy.

It is a bit of a walk and you will find other passengers rushing past you to get through immigration quickly. I am also having problems walking so will have to be patient. Luckily we are in PE right by the door so will be off quite quickly.

I’m normally one of those people. Lol but we are in the bubble so sounds like we get off quick from there so should be ok. As long as it’s no miles I will be hobbling as quick as I can.

Last November I managed to negotiate walking to immigration despite having snapped my ACL and tearing my meniscus in my left knee on the plane going over to Florida ,if you don't get caught up in the rush to get to immigration with everyone rushing past you ( I couldn't have rushed even if I had wanted to ) you will be fine,it's carpeted ,just take your time and it nearly all down hill ,there are seats available should you need to sit x

Just arrange special assistance, get a wheel chair and push to front of the queue.

That’s good to know there is chairs.

No I’m not needing a wheelchair. Wife did think she was going to have to order me a scooter for the whole of holidays but improved so much.

Thanks all for taken time to reply.

That's impressive - also how on earth did you manage doing that on the plane

So true. I also have problems walking (lymphoedema) and loads of people overtake me! I sit in 19D so also right by the door though that's not the reason I sit there as I know I'll be overtaken as soon as I get off.
