Dolphin Swim DC - How strict?

My son would love to do the dolphin swim but he will be one month away from being 6!

How strict are they with ages? He is a competent swimmer too!

Thank you

I would say for insurance purposes very strict, the rules are there for a reason (I don't know what the reason is, but they obviously have them for a certain reason) I wouldn't book it for him as I wouldn't want him to be disappointed on the day if you know what I mean. You can always email them and ask.

I don't know about nowadays but when we went a few years ago they allowed younger kids to swim if they were assessed as being confident in the water.

If you didn’t tell them/get approval you’d be falsifying the waiver/liability release form which I understand you have to complete for all children.

Not sure where you’d stand legally if anything were to happen, especially in the US?

That was the same for us when we went in 2014, we were allowed in at the end with the rest of our party to have photos done.

As I remember, we had to present our passports when booking in? I would guess any discrepancy would be spotted at that time and that the issue would be insurance.

I think the passport check would be more for adults and their potential alcohol consumption. But still something to keep in mind.

I need to check what ID we need to take for our visit later this year as hadn't initially considered taking a passport

We are holding off going again until all kids are old enough- I don't think the youngest would be too happy being left out. Roll on 2021- Already planning.
