Mobile Aldi or Walmart?

We are on a super budget trip this time so looking for ways to save a bit of money. Is Aldi cheaper than Walmart? I’d be after things like bread, milk, free range eggs, pasta & sauce, pizzas, beer etc. Or maybe Dollar Tree would be a good option?

Aldi will also be cheaper because you won't be tempted by all the extras in Walmart. It will be much easier to find all the basics. Dollar Tree works for some things but you would still have to go somewhere else too.

I used to live in Germany, where Aldi was a large hypermarket along the lines of a Tesco or Walmart.
In The UK, the business model is totally different.

Are the US Aldo's based on the German model or the UK one?

Thankyou for any replies.

The UK one. They aren't very big.

We had a local Walmart right across the road from Aldi this was in Bradenton. The local Walmart price matched on the basics bread milk etc, but the Super Walmart about a Mile away was way dearer for the basics

Apologies, further research via Google Earth reveals that the massive store in Detmold where I lived for 3 years was in fact a Kaufmarkt, rather than an Aldimarkt.
