BA2169 on 16 September 2019 has been cancelled.

Just had this email
Anyone else planning to travel on this day?

Need to weigh up my options, I assume I can cancel now if I wanted. I only put a deposit down luckily but I thought I got good prices @ approx £2k for a fly drive with Ford Edge or similar for 17 days (5 of us)

I may cancel as I have not sorted accommodation out yet.

Did they give a reason?

I am booked on 2 BA flights around that time (6th and 28th) so hope neither of those are cancelled.

Could BA not just transfer you to an earlier flight and then book an additional days accommodation?

Did you want to be near FLL specifically? Your best is probably LHR-MIA if so. If not, another alternative would be LGW-TPA.

Make sure they consider what you want rather than just what is easiest for them.

Assuming this was booked as an ATOL protected package with BA Holidays, it will depend to some extent on what alternative you’re offered, but this is highly likely to be considered a significant change under the package regulations, in which case you could cancel for a full refund.

However, I would only look at cancelling if I didn’t want to travel or I could source alternative arrangements at the same price or better. This looks like you got a pretty good price, so if you can’t better it, I’d recommend focusing on pushing them to give you the best possible alternative flights. You will still have the option to cancel if you don’t like the alternative.

Thanks all
I have been trying to get through to the point where it connected and then disconnected

I now get a message saying all lines are to busy to take calls etc.
I guess others trying at the same time as me.

To be honest with all the other things I still need to sort out, this might be a blessing in disguise and I may cancel for a refund and look at an alternative holiday.

Thanks all
