9 days of DDP - costs!
We upgraded to full DDP from QSDP that was offered for staying at POFQ. Out of interest we wanted to see how much DDP actually equated to "cash" wise.
Obviously some of the things we wouldn't have bought OOP as, especially with the 2nd snack credits, a lot we used up because we had them. But gives an indication of prices and may be useful when weighing up whether upgrading to DDP is worth it for your family. We are 2 adults and 2 children aged 8 and 6. Any questions please ask! Great post, thanks for sharing. We did DDP earlier this year and loved it.
This is also really helpful for those wondering if it is worth buying the dining plan for those times it isnt offered for free. For 2017, an adult is $69.35 per night and a child is $24.95 per night for DDP so by my calculations that would have cost $1697.40 for 9 nights for 2 adults, 2 children. You ate $2030 worth of food so a $300 saving had you actually paid for it.

Hmm, this is really interesting, I'm so glad you shared it.
There are always debates on the dibb about whether the dining plans are value for money or not. Personally I like not having to say no to my kids so much... saying yes is much nicer on holiday, also I like being able to budget in advance. Can I ask if you included the tips in your table service meal prices? Thanks

Sorry being a bit thick is 2030 what you would have spent if you had bought the food. We are a family of six and I am not on ddp. I have budgeted $300 per day for food so looking at what you would have spent is a fantastic guide.

it can also be worth upgrading your occomodation instead, for us its always been cheaper to book a studio in OKW with full dining plan rather than PO with QSDP and pay to upgrade the dining plan

We thought this was the case too but for our dates next Easter it isn't. Must be because I believe Easter is peak pricing. For example upgrading to full DDP at POR is still £500 more than upgrading to full DDP at All star.
However for July/August it totally works - you can stay at SSR or OKW which are deluxe (so with DDP for free) for the exact same price as POR with QSDP and paying to upgrade. Just did a dummy booking, £5504 for our dates at POR with upgrade to free DDP, SSR was £6194

Yes, if we paid for everything ourselves. Tbh we wouldn't have spent that much because some of the things we bought because we had credits "spare" but meal costs should help you.

Completely agree. I love being able to not have to worry about the cost of snacks, ice creams etc.
No tips weren't included in the prices. For us next year it's £480 more I think to upgrade to full DDP opposed to QS so based on what we spent on TS meals this year it's a no brainer!
