I'm pretty sure the way home was an Uber XL. We were willing to pay the extra to Uber rather than do the bus trip for the convenience of getting there and leaving when we wanted.

Actually that's not too bad with multiple people. I think when I looked at the cost of transfers (with tours like Florida Dolphin etc) it was around $50 per person for just the cost of the bus ride to/from KSC. So if you have 3 people then the Uber may not be that much more than booking 3 separate bus transfers...
