We booked with My Magic Holiday. The complaint was forwarded to Kathy but it's just fallen flat.

we paid to move, more so because we needed nights adding and there was no availability at CBR but with my sister passing away last month and the change of flight times (Norwegian Air) I just don't have any fight left in me at the moment but I did add 3 nights to our Orlando stay easily enough.

When do you go? I’ve been following these posts and the other thread and it’s unsettling. I’ve also booked with MMH - I had a look at trip advisor last night and wish I hadn’t bothered as everything was mostly negative.

For some balance. My flights were changed a whole day (cancelled ) by Virgin. I am booked with MMH who changed my flights by a day each end so we could still have a 14 day trip and rebooked my Beach Club stay. Took me two very short phone calls. The flight change was out of their control and they managed my requirements around it promptly and effectively.

Looks like St Kathy may not be able or willing to help anymore. I went direct to her after Mattie at MyMagicHoliday wasn't getting anywhere himself. The response I got was -

Dear Mr. B,

Your email has been forwarded to us by Kathy Matthews.

You have booked your holiday with a travel agent.

All your concerns must be addressed by your booking agent.

Kind Regards,

Sharon Roach
Walt Disney Travel Company International

I have replied, but they are now ignoring me. Looks like this is going nowhere. They are refusing to budge for Mattie and just keep giving him the same answer - They are refusing to speak to me entirely!

Sorry I didn’t mean problems with MMH they’ve been fantastic. Well I say they but I’ve only ever dealt with Mattie but again I’ll be booking with them in future.

I just meant the whole CBR stuff going on. When I booked my holiday last June I was aware of construction but the way I interpreted it was that we’d having some dining choices when we go but that doesn’t look likely. And at that time the whole Riveria stuff hadn’t been announced. It’s interesting reading the trip advisor reviews because the Disney person replying alludes to a complete renovation of the resort (I forget the words used) but this is not how I read it when booking this holiday.

Actually they are not "giving" anyone a free massive upgrade, to put it into perspective: SSR is a Deluxe Resort, they initially tried to move me to POFQ, not with any money back I hasten to add!, so Deluxe to moderate isn't "giving" me anything. I called & specifically asked to have SSR, as I'm there from 18th-29th Oct anyway, but also there was no way I was settling for a downgrade. We were offered BC or AKL - Deluxe to Deluxe: so not giving us anything.
The main difference though: Is that your rooms/resort are still available, in all the other cases there were no rooms to give.
I can totally understand Disney's stance, as the onus is on the TA, that you booked with, it's on them to "mention" the building works so that you can then make an informed decision.

I’ll add, I’m not denying we were told about work that was going on. It’s the fact they kept everything else from us. It’s not ‘refurbishment’ which is what we were told at the time of booking, it’s full on reconstruction of the resort pretty much entirely.

Not sure how much I agree because the goal posts have been moved quite a bit with the work and what will be available to us during our stay.

And this is what I find interesting because disney themselves refer to it as “major resort wide refurbishment” on trip advisor. That’s a bit more than just rerbishment to me.
