51st and Green lounge, Worth it ?

Flying indirect via Dublin for the first time in August & using USA pre clearance. We arrive in dublin at 11.35 and depart for Orlando at 3pm and was thinking of booking 51st and Green for about midday. Has anyone any experience is it worth it, is the food nice, is the location at the side of the runway as good as they say ? also has anyone ever found any discounts/cheaper places to book it ? rather than the official airport site at 35 Euros each ( 2 adults & 2 children so 4 of us altogether )

Hi we used it this year and plan to use it next yr too. We loved it so nice to relax kids got up and helped themselves to whatever they wanted. Hubbie and I had a drink. They call you when ur flight is boarding. Lovely way to start a holiday!

We personally buy a nice breakfast at Slaneys before going through pre-clearance. To us that is much better value.

Sorry, I don’t agree. 51st is excellent, plenty of food, drinks, coffee and relaxation past customs so no worrying about getting through.

To us that’s much better value

I think if you work it out you will pay at least €10 - €15 pp on brekkie in the airport then if you have a drink? You can add another €5-€10 onto that. So that total versus €35 pp. You have to decide!

I've been looking into this as well.
I arrive at just after 9am and don't fly out until 3pm, however I've read that you can only do pre-clearance about 90mins before your flight, so realistically we could only spend an hour at max in 51st and Green! I wonder if anyone has any experience of this?

As far as I know, you can do pre-clearance anytime you want -- as long as you meet the deadlines.

I have certainly been in this lounge for more than 2 hours.

You can do pre clearance at any time.

I have some video of the lounge if required

We did this in August and would recommend. We spent 3 hours in it and was nice to chill and enjoy the food and drink

Sounds like what I've read must be incorrect then.
Might look into it again in this case. We could have had a 2 hour layover, but I'm too much of a worrier and decided the 6 hours would be worth the compromise for my sanity , but a lounge would make the time pass a little faster.
