We've done the John Pennecamp park and had our photo taken at the southernmost point.
The Pennecamp park was a great day out, we took a glass bottomed boat out to the reef. On the way we passed lots of people rowing surfboards, I don't know their proper name, which looked like great fun. We had a really nice relaxed day there. I wanted to to visit the turtle hospital, we passed it on the way to Key West, but we ran out of time. We only had 3 days in the Keys and will spend more time down there next time we go.

Stop at the Key Lime Café on Key Largo for a mango smoothie and a slice of pie - fantastic!

We loved the Keys.
7 Mile Bridge is fantastic and we enjoyed the Theatre of the Seas. There was also a wooden seafood restaurant by the road in the mid Keys area. The seating was upstairs and faced out over the water. We had a large plate of crabs legs and other shellfish. We watched the pelicans as we ate. Can't remember where or the name. It was nearly 25 years ago!

I 2nd John Pennekamp in Key Largo - it was very good and was pretty reasonable cost too.
Also not far from there is a great little place to eat - Mrs Macs - world famous key lime pie - definitely going back there when around Miami area! |

Wild bird refuge in Key Largo. Lots of close up birds and very peaceful.
The Little White House and / or Ernest Hemingway’s house in Key West - unmissable. |
