Alamo - car seat
We are debating if to carry our car seat or just rent one.
We have skip the counter and there doesn't seem to be away of adding on a car seat now. If we want to do it will we have to go to the counter to do it now on arrival. Does anyone know if they can provide the booster with a back - style car seat. Kid will be 4. Cheers |

Carry your own, the hire car ones can be in a disgusting state and you don’t know their history, dropped, damaged, etc. For the price it costs to hire you could easily buy a few in Walmart.

You can add on a booster seat when you do the online check in. $70 plus tax and airport charge so works out at circa $82. Can't comment on the quality as we use a BubbleBum to get us away from the airport and then pickup a high back booster seat from WalMart for $30.

Our UK seat isn't legal in the USA. I would imagine the travel insurance would have a field day in the result of traffic accident if we needed coverage. Hence the question...

Thats interesting... what seat do you have? I would have thought our seats would exceed US regs, considering they think its safe for 6 yr olds to be in a vehicle without any type of child seat.

Most of the UK seats are not USA (FMVSS) approved as they are only rated to EU standards (ECE R44).
The EU standards are in fact higher than the usa standards so from a seat point of view, they tend to be safer. We always take our own seats and use them. Edited at 01:00 AM. |

But still illegal in the USA... and while I couldn't give a monkeys about a USA traffic cop giving me a fine... I am worried about my travel insurance not paying out if I am involved in a serious accident.
I also can't find any information on how it will affect my travel insurance. eekk |

OP. Alamo supply this seat for the age you are talking about.
However if it was me I would take my own. In fact we did this last August for our Granddaughter.
