Mobile Car hire - pick up Miami, drop off Orlando same day?

We have seen flights into Miami rather than MCO that would save us hundreds. However we are staying on site and will not need a car during our stay. Question is how do we get from Miami to Orlando? Can we pick up a hire car in Miami and drop it off in Orlando on the same day? Any other suggestions on the best way to transfer? Thanks.

Why not look at adding on a flight from Miami to Orlando. We did Miami as a stopover a few times and it was still much cheaper than flying direct.

You can do a one way hire from Miami to Orlando.
If you use Alamo then you can drop it off at the DCCC and they will drop you at your hotel.
Alternatively, but will probably take longer, take it to MCO then get DME to your hotel.
Will probably be charged for a 24hr hire though, think that is the minimum rental period.

As we usually fly in/out of MCO I take one way hire to drive down to Bokeelia, dropping the motor nearby in Cape Coral. There are no surcharges for one way drop within Florida. If you use Alamo select Mia as pick up and DCCC for drop off.

Great. Very useful information, thank you. Alamo dropping us at hotel would be excellent. Reckon it's worth doing for the £1000 saving!

As above book with Alamo and put the drop of as the Disney car company which is just outside magic kingdom. Free parking at your hotel so you could keep it for 24 hours and do a Walmart run the next day before dropping it off.

So we could stop off for provisions (wine) before dropping it back?! Even better.

OP. This may help you. Some companies and Virgin is one tend to do a min of a 48 hour rental. Sometimes cheaper than those doing 24hrs.
Pick up in Miami. get to WDW. Use the car to go to a Park your first day and then drop back at the CCC en route to your Resort. The CCC Minibus will take you the final bit after the car is gone.
