Taking food/snacks from home
sorry I can’t find the answer to this on Virgins website... Can I take snacks from home for my children onto the plane in my hand luggage? I asked on virgin chat and she said no, but we flew to the US a couple of years ago with BA and they were fine about it. Has something changed? I know I can buy food/drink after security and take that on, but I was hoping to bring some bits from home if possible? Thanks

Yes you can but any fruit dairy or meat items need to be discarded before landing and anything else declared even sweets

Every single flight, without exception, be it VS, BA or TC we buy sandwiches from the landside M&S and take them on board. You should ditch any uneaten meat, fish, fruit or dairy though before getting off the plane.
As you say though get your drinks from Boots or W H Smith airside. Mikd

Great thanks for the replies- I thought you could! Thanks for confirming. We’ll throw away any bits that aren’t eaten before landing. Thanks!

When our DS was younger we took him a full packed lunch from home which he grazed on through the flight, its only the liquids you cant take through security
