August 2016 on and off site (includes gluten free)*complete*
My intention is to keep this updated as I go but let's see whether I can stay awake long enough!
** ok so I failed miserably at keeping this up to date, I found the internet really slow at uploading my photos. Now we are home I have a few days off work so will try and finish this off. I should also mention that I have been trying to eat gluten free. I have been having alot of stomach pain, gall stones have been ruled out following an ultrasound but have noticed my symptoms get a lot worse after eating gluten. I will be seeing my GP for further tests now that we are back. I did stray from this a few times on holiday but did suffer afterwards! My DD is autistic and has obsessive moments you may notice this throughout this report! ** Travelling are me, dh, dd14 turns 15 out there and ds12. Total spends on DDP $273.55. We had 5 nights but used it over 6 days. This averages out to $45.59 per day, or $11.40 per person per day. Total spends for the rest of the time $1957.93. (This includes the food bought on travel days in $.) This averages out to $122.37 over 16 days, or $30.59 per person per day. Total spends in sterling on pre travel day and both travel days £137.88 This was effectively feeding 4 adults as the kids at 12 and 15 eat more than me and we only purchased a couple of kids meals at seaworld. Food was ok but they have changed from cook to order hot food to buffet style. This was tasty enough, although the bacon was very fatty, but they kept running out with long waits whilst they cooked more. Also seemed to be less staff around and the place was generally untidy. Was quite amusing when, despite signs saying not to, someone put a croissant in the toaster. Lots of smoke ensued and a very panicked waitress as the croissant had caught on fire! Fortunately it dropped into the tray and the fire went out phew! Total cost for 5 adult cooked breakfasts, 1 adult continental breakfast and 3 kids who ate free £51.94 We stopped at some services to stretch our legs. Dd wanted a frappé and I needed coffee to stay awake. Dd had a grande cookie crumble mocha frappé And I had a grande latte. Dd really enjoyed her drink mine was a latte what can I say Dinner was at the premier inn. I'm very glad we reserved a table. We booked the table for 6 o'clock and whilst waiting to check in they were telling people the earliest they could be seated was between 9&10! I bought the meal deals when I paid for the room. 2 adults for £24.99 each which is a 2 course meal with drink then breakfast. Kids eat free at breakfast so only needed to pay for 2 meals tonight. As I haven't got my Florida belly ready yet, I order a sharer starter which dh and I shared but I had as starter and main. Dd had the breaded prawns ds the breaded mushrooms all very nice. For mains Dd chose a burger, d.s. full rack of ribs and dh a mixed grill again all very nice dds burger was huge! To drink the kids had Diet Coke dh had lemonade and lime and I had a nice glass of white wine. Edited at 03:53 PM. Reason: clarification |

Sunday 14th travel day
Breakfast was at the premier inn. We got there at just gone 5. We were told we wouldn't need to book a table and they were right there was only one other family in there! Exactly the same as yesterday except cleaner. This was included in the meal deal but would have been £10.50 each but kids under 16 eat free. |

I bought everyone a meal deal I went into whsmith first and got the boys theirs. The only gluten free option was egg mayonnaise roll so I left that.
These were £3.99 each there was another their drink but dh downed it with his tablets. Dd and I went to boots and got our meal deals. I chose a Caesar salad but would leave the croutons I got us all a bottle of water and a few sweets for the flight. Dd fancied another cookie mocha frappe thing from Starbucks Lunch on the plane was ok. They brought round the kids meal first which was meatballs and pasta. The snack box was the same as the adults but with a soft cheese square. A choice of juice or water to drink. I'd preordered a gluten free meal but they were one short so they went to try and find me something. Dd chose sausage and mash which she said was ok but a bit weird with raisins in the gravy. Dh chose the chicken with macaroni His hand for scale. They came back with a Thai green curry and said it would take 15 minutes to heat and offered me a banana or orange (or both) I chose a banana and she gave me some crisps. Afternoon snacks came around Egg mayonnaise sandwich, cheese sandwich and a scone with jam and cream. I got the gluten free snack this time but then they realised they were short for the snack as well so someone else got the bad news this time (sorry missybpink) tea and coffee were the choices but as with lunch I had to ask for milk as didn't have it in my pack. I bought a small bottle of wine and a can of pop for the others. |

We did a quick Walmart shop although it felt like all of the state were I there the queues were awful! The family 2 in front of us had 3 trolleys full of food. We bought all the essential food groups. Water, crisps, pop tarts and milk. Also picked up a subway for the kids. Both chose meatball marinara which was great as it was their dub of the day and a 6" was only $3 plus tax $6.16 in total.
