This is terrible! That CM will be sacked, you are not even supposed to point with one finger in Disney let alone man-handle the guests. As others have said CMs are generally brilliant in WDW especially with all the stuff they must get thrown at them, day in day out, unfortunately as with everywhere there are always the odd ones that let the side down.

Technically, grabbing you is an assault. You may want to give a FLA lawyer a call if Disney don't sort this properly.

Whilst a terrible experience, the thing to take away is the aftercare, which appears to have been good.
Wishing you all well and a happy rest of your holiday |

I’m sorry to hear you had such a horrible experience and I hope Disney have taken this seriously and the staff member sacked. I think when you’re in a fun, family friendly environment, it feels even more shocking than if you were just out and about on a normal street.
About 9 years ago, when my daughter was about 2, we had a horrible experience with Cinderella in Akershus whilst my daughter was having an absence seizure (where you stop moving, like you’ve frozen) and Cinderella was in a rush to get her photos done so she snatched my daughters knife out of her hand to make us hurry up. We were so shocked and upset, we spoke to the manager, went to guest services and by that time, they’d concocted a different story saying she had to take the knife because my daughter was waving it around, which wasn’t true. Disney has never been the same for us so we usually go to universal instead but we’re actually returning this year so we’ll see if the magic is back Edited at 12:36 PM. |

Last time we were at MK in May this year it was very clear that they were oversubscribed for the fireworks. They had loads of roped off ares into which they were stuffing people and they were shouting at people loudly to clear the paths. If you werent in the roped off areas they would just get three CMS to come and make you move.
It was so busy that they opened up the area behind the shops and they roped off more areas on the side of that behind the scenes bit and called them viewing areas. So we ended up down there but of course, no one could see the castle because the shops were in the way (well duh!) so everyone was constantly trying to edge out to see what was happening. There were a couple of families with disabled kids and they were crying they couldnt see, so basically everyone got out their way so they could get the best position. Suddenly this young lady CM came over YELLING at everyone to get behind the line. Well the fireworks had started by now so there was hardly anyone leaving anyway but she stood right in the face of the one of the mothers and yelled at her to get back even holding her lit up baton in her face and trying to force her back. Now we're not talking about a whole path being blocked and we're perhaps talking 30-60cm over the white line on the floor just so the kids could see, but she was just plain nasty, shouting and threatening. Another cm came over and clearly told her to calm down and she started yelling at him saying they need to CLEAR THE PATH *YOU* should help me clear them NOW! By the time security came, the two security guys very quickly saw the situation and one escorted the CM to the side whilst the other basically apologised to the crowd. The families were really upset though and I think the rest of us were just plain shocked. Obviously there are always bad apples and there are stressful days for cms and there are rude customers to deal with but I'm seeing a lot more of this kind of CM behaviour than I've ever seen before the training just doesnt seem to be there any more |

Not to anyway excuse the CM behaviour but I think Disney need to find a better way of managing the fireworks in MK, we were there in April this year and wanted to watch them but it was so packed I was a bit frightened, in the end we decided to leave and we were shown out via the back of the Main Street shops, we watched from the SSR bus stop!

yeah totally agree with you. That CM shouldn't have been a CM *BUT* Disney are putting the crowd control cms in a terribly awkward situation by the way they're packing out the parks.
I can't help thinking its a LOT worse now that there are all these little roped off areas for various parties. That and because of all the projections on the castle, you can't really get a full experience from anywhere else BUT in front of the castle :/ |
