As above.

If this was the free $200 that was offered as part of the free dining package then this was an offer from Disney, not Virgin. It's Disney that is providing the $200, not Virgin, and is the same package deal people can get if booked direct with Disney.

Another thing to note: nothing is loaded onto a MagicBand. The MagicBand doesn't store any of your information. It simply has a ID number and this, in turn, is linked to your MDE account. And your MDE account doesn't store money.

It's possible that the $200 is added to your room account. However, that would mean that if you don't spend all $200 by the end of your holiday then you'll lose the money (your room account will end after you check out). I guess Disney could give you a gift card containing the remaining amount when you check out - but it makes more sense just to give you a gift card in the first place (whether at Disney Springs or at reception).

God I hope they do load it onto Magic Bands. That would be so much easier. Having to trek to Disney Springs is a pain...

I am interested to know the outcome of this too.

EDIT: Isn't there also a voucher for early entry to WWOHP if you book with VH?

I haven’t been too recent, but when I went l last May I had to collect it at the airport, along with my WWOHP early entry vouchers. Seems more convenient if it is already on your room account though! Or even if the gift card was at reception, so much easier! Took us nearly an hour to find the virgin desk last time, asked 3 members of staff and they all gave wrong instructions!

It would be a room credit, as has been said they are giving the impression that the magic bands actually hold the money , which they dont. They just link to your room where you have a credit facility.

So if they are saying its on the magic bands thats wrong. If they are wrong about that I question everything else!

I think in order to have a room account you have to supply credit/debit card details at check in (this is not the same thing as the credit card details attached to your MDE account and you don't have to use the credit card to pay off the room bill)? Some people may not have a credit/debit card or may not be happy to provide this. If this is true, I wonder if Virgin have made folk aware of this?

(And, yes, I realise that I'm probably overthinking this)

Last year I refuse to spend my time in the airport collecting the voucher.

We could not find the desk so I left, it was delivered to our reception at CBR with a phone call to say so
