Flying tomorrow 4th Sep
Hey dibbers , wanted to get peoples opinion , supposed to be flying tomorrow 4th Sept from Manchester - MCO with Thomas cook. Not heard anything about flight being cancelled as of yet. What do you reckon are the chances of our flight going ahead ? Should we reschedule ? we are going for 2 weeks. Thanks

This is the statement on the Thomas Cook website in relation to Dorian:
Our flights to and from Orlando airport on Wednesday 4th September are currently under review, subject to further updates from Orlando airport. As previously stated, this continues to be a very fluid situation. Hurricane Dorian has proven to be an unpredictable storm. We will provide further updates as soon as possible. Please check our flight tracker for live updates. We continue to offer free amendments or cancellations to bookings for all customers who wish to do so, for travel up to and including Thursday 5th September. We are proactively contacting all customers in Florida and those due to travel in the coming days. If you're due to travel on a Thomas Cook package holiday during this time, you can also contact us on 01733 224 886 to discuss your travel arrangements or further requirements. Those customers flying seat-only with Thomas Cook Airlines can contact us on 01733 224330 to discuss your flight. As with all hurricanes, the local government has tried and tested procedures which are activated when a hurricane warning is issued. Our teams on the ground and our hotel partners are working with the authorities to keep our customers safe, comfortable and well-informed. 19 of our special assistance team members flew to Orlando on Saturday 31st August and are now helping our customers in Florida in preparation for the Hurricane.

I seen on another thread that MCO have some sort of meeting at 1pm local time and make decisions then. If so that would mean that you should know if your flight will go ahead sometime after 6pm UK time.

Thomas Cook are to update at 8pm according to their website, after MCO have decided what they're doing.
Got a feeling we won't be travelling tomorrow...

If the airport is closed again tomorrow and flight gets cancelled does anyone know what the process is with Thomas cook ? Do they re-schedule the flight ? It won’t let me check in either 😔

We’ve just been turned away from twilight check in with Virgin (on VS75 ex Man tomorrow), which we were expecting to be honest. Advised they may not be any the wiser until tomorrow morning around 11am (due to depart at 0955). Have been given a copy of the letter those affected today were given and to be fair to them it does appear they are doing all they can to make it as painless as possible.
Unless something changes in the meantime it would appear if we do get away tomorrow it will be delayed by a good few hours.
