Why are prices for indirect so much more, on the site via Shannon they want an extra £800 odd £’s
Not that I want indirect just wondered why so much more as this is a longer flight with a stop, Boston to Heathrow

We got direct from LGW to TPA for 4 adults & 2 kids for £804pp including 12 seater transit with BA.

Since booking, the price has gone up by about £200pp, but as I've only had to pay £150 deposit, if the prices do fall dramatically, I will cancel and rebook at the lower price as the £150 loss of deposit will be worth the sacrifice.

The transit alone on the Avis website is £1000, so if you remove that, our flights equated to £637pp including luggage for direct to Tampa, which I'm very happy with as our dates are 29th July to 15th Aug.

If you see a price you are happy with, book it!

This is similar to us - booked on the last day of the sale for August 2020 and it was £730pp including a 7-seater suburban for 15 days.
It seems that car hire, from Alamo, Avis etc has sky-rocketed for next year, and I can only assume this is because the demand has increased! this year we costed 14 night 7-seater Town&Country from Avis as £560, whereas in 2020 its coming up at £1500!
By booking with the £175 deposit, we will keep watching direct and indirect prices and jump to others should we find a price less that £2500 total.

Having looked at the Avis website, your car alone is £730 for your dates, so effectively the direct flights for 4 of you inc luggage are just £405pp, so sounds very good to me.

At the end of the day, if you find a price you are happy with, book and enjoy! Plus the car you have is awesome, we had one in 2017 and I nearly swapped my BMW for an Edge back home!

I paid just a £150 deposit for the 6 of us and I'm checking the price everyday, as if they drop, I will cancel my existing booking and lose the deposit, to book the cheaper flights.

As it is, they have gone up from £804pp to £1050pp at the minute.

Enjoy the planning.
