Thanks for that tip - not decided on which one yet, but will try to book early as possible.
We thought the Saturday would be best as we can lie in on the Sunday! as we are up early on the Monday. Quite fancy Mama Mia

Wow you will have a fab time! Any show on Broadway will be an experience, I went to see Chicago, having never been to a show before, it was amazing!.
Just to 2nd the fact about thermals, I have never been so cold in my whole life as I was on the Staten Island Ferry when I went in December a few years ago, but it was really good! I really enjoyed the Gugenheim if you have time - it's unique! Lots of amazing places to eat as well, have you giveb that any thought. I am hopefully going back in December too for my 30th birthday, can't wait, NYC is amazing, i love it! B (another Barbara!) |

We stayed at the Milford Plaza a couple of years ago. The hotel was fine although the rooms were small and are in a great location near to Times Square.
You will have a great time!

thanks Louise - that is reassuring as I have read a few bad reviews on the hotel, but it seemed a good deal.
Barbara, we haven't really given much thought to food! Hoping to find a good bacon and egg breakfast place nearby and maybe a sort of basic type restaurant in the evening, possibly italian or chinese or 'Perkins' style - I have noticed there are plenty of places around Times Square.

Mamma Mia had 82% attendance last week so you will be able to get seats later this year if you arent sure yet. But for Sat night wouldnt wait too long. Price is about $121.25.

I went to the theatre website to see what the score was but you can only book up to July at the moment.
Some of the attraction sites will sell you tickets for November, but if we go I want best seats and I dont know if they will be if I get them that way.

Only up to August so far, but I like the fact that they tell you which row you get when you book so have saved the site for nearer the time.
Thanks x

I dont think they will discount Sat night shows in Nov but you never know! They didnt during January perhaps 82% was good for Jan and they didnt need to.
That said. There are discounts for Lion King now. Very surprised. Since you cant reserve Nov yet ... you're sure to get excellent seats! |

Just an update. I watched the rough guides programme on channel 5 earlier on and they had a short break to New York so that has got us all wound up again - plus reading Steves reports did a good job too!
We are still sorting ourselves out and have definitely decided on Mamma Mia as the show we want to see - they are now booking up to October so far, so by next month we should be able to book some good seats. We may change the itinerary slightly and do the show on the Friday night being how we will have to get up so early on the sunday! Everything else going according to plan. We have saved quite a bit of spending money so now just trying to work out the best time to get our dollars. Still so full of excitement.
