Only 1 of the 2 new rides at Galaxy's Edge will be a simulator. The Millennium Falcon will be a simulator ride. But Rise of the Resistance isn't - it's a dark ride that moves around inside from scene to scene.

Rise of the Resistance will probably use some screens as well as animatronics to show some action. Just because it uses screens does not mean it's a simulator. It will still move around like other dark rides. Na'Vi River Journey uses screens but isn't a simulator - it's an indoor boat ride.

I suspect Hagrid's Motorbike ride will also use a few screens in some areas. But it won't be a simulator.

Yes ROTR is using similar tech to the Shanghai Pirates I think- and that is probably the best ride in the world at the moment in terms of how impressive it is.
