Opinions on our 2 week plan in June, no Disney
So 2 AD and 2 teen boys off to Orlando as first timers for the first 2 weeks in June. Staying in a villa at Highlands reserve.
We're not entirely sure what to expect but this forum is a wealth of knowledge so thanks to all the contributors. Our basic plan is something like this; 1st June - Travel day. Arrive MCO 1720, pick up the car and get to the villa. Perhaps some basic shopping en route? 2nd June - Relax after the travelling. On advice here we may either do a half day at a park or else some shopping and get back to the villa to chill. Maybe a meal out or eat at the villa, depends on how we find where everything is in terms of restaurants etc. 3rd June - First park day. Perhaps Seaworld to break ourselves in and get our bearings. Dinner out somewhere. 4th June - Universal hotel night. Get to the hotel early and check in. Hopefully get the main rides done without too much pace. Eat out at Citywalk in the evening. (Maybe have an hour at the pool in the afternoon and have the evening out) 5th June - 2nd Universal day. Cram as much in as we can. 6th June - Chill out day. Maybe find some half day activity to do. Meal out in the evening. 7th June - Waterpark, either Volcano Bay or Aquatica. Meal out in the evening. 8th June - Shopping or some other type of day out, yet to be researched! 9th June - Villa/relaxing day. Nothing too hectic. 10th June - Off to Clearwater first thing. Check into the hotel. Walk around and enjoy the day. 11th June - Busch gardens on the way back to the villa. 12th June - Shopping day (I'd imagine) 13th June - Day trip to Kennedy space centre 14th June - Back to a park that we would like to do again, or havent done yet. 15th June - Either chill out day or something like disney springs? 16th June - Check out of the villa, lunch and then off to the airport for the evening flight back. That's a basic rough plan for now. I have still to look at things to do for a half day or things not too hectic without driving too far. Any suggestions welcome. I can't imagine how anyone fits Disney in as well in 2 weeks. I'd be wrecked after that. |

Do you have aquatica with your Seaworld tickets? May be worth a visit there too. The only thing I'd say is that it seems you have a lot of 'shopping' days planned, I'm not sure if it was planned that way or you were just trying to fill the days in.
If you have 14 day tickets for Universal I'd probably go back there for another day too to do your favourite rides xx

Yes, the 'shopping' days may well be filled with something else.
More than likely we will go back to universal . We have aquatica tickets too so that's another day. |

Looks OK, very relaxed. We don't do relaxing very well and end up in the parks most days but I would say probably another day at Universal. We love Disney Springs so spend a lot of evenings there, especially if your not doing Disney just to get the Disney vibes.
Have you thought about visiting a few of the Disney Hotel resorts? Maybe watch the fireworks from the Poly Beach? |

I guess we're lucky in that our kids like relaxing too.
I just spotted Disney springs on another thread so would like to look into that a bit more. Can anyone go there without Disney tickets? I wasn't aware you could go to the Disney resort hotels either. We did think about doing a day or 2 at Disney but tickets for 2 days don't seem to be around at the moment. Our kids really don't fancy Disney but someone suggested that they would enjoy a day at Epcot. |

DS is basically a retail and restaurant location and anyone can visit - some of the shops are very high end though.
Park free in either of the two multi-storey parking garages. Between them is the WDW bus terminal where you can catch a free bus to all the resorts (but not to the parks). You don't need to be a resort guest, nor have a dining reservation nor have park tickets to visit DS or use the WDW transport. WE do it at least twice every holiday. Never stayed on site and haven't been to a park since 2010. Mick
